The shell

Shella had no identity and no logo, and they were making their own artwork. They wanted to look professional, with a logo they could be proud of.

We looked at the drum and bass promoters, DJs and events competing for the same crowd in Cardiff. The shell comes from the first part of the name, and the hand-cut outline and rounded edges make it feel rough and ready, more like a drum and bass crew.

An SF icon and a one-line version give them a logo for every placement, from caps and pin badges to an Instagram profile.

The nights

Shelloween, Jingle Shells, FMS III, Bass Nations and the Rooftop Rave each got their own look under the Shella Fellaz name, across Bunkhouse, Six Feet Under and District in Cardiff.

Since then, Shella have moved into bigger venues and bigger shows, with bigger artist bookings and collaborations, because venues and artists now see a crew they can trust.
