The badge

PLAY was a brand-new, student-led night with nothing in place. It had to win over university students, especially the sports teams and societies.

A round badge built around an orange shield and a PLAY monogram that also works on its own, fit for all placements.

Hanging banner with the PLAY Komedia badge on a teal and pink check pattern, suspended from a ceiling
PLAY launch feed post: 'There's a new Wednesday in town!! 17th Sept' in pink 3D type beside the badge on pink and teal diamondsOktoberfest feed post styled as a teal diamond-pattern shirt with a pink collar: 'Oktoberfest, 24th September', Jubel and PLAY logos, every Wednesday, Komedia, 23:00–03:00
III.
Every week needed new artwork without losing the brand.
The Jubel Jungle feed post: orange shirt design with white collar and 'The Jubel Jungle, 15th October' in tall white typePlay Dead feed post: purple shirt with a green collar and spider-web pattern, 'Play Dead, 29th October' with a skull and crossbones
Dubtendo Allstars feed post: pink shirt scattered with pixel-art game characters, mushrooms and stars, 'Dubtendo Allstars, 5 November' in a red and white panelXmas Send Off feed post styled as a Santa suit with a gold belt buckle reading 'Xmas Send Off, 10th Dec, Pigs in Blanket Bar'

Theme nights

We built a versatile system, planned ahead with future events in mind.

We looked at who the night was for, what competing nights were doing and where the gaps were. That led to trending, youthful colours and sports motifs, carried through every theme from Oktoberfest to Play Dead and the Xmas Send Off.

Play Vegas feed post: pink and teal card-suit diamonds with a Las Vegas-style sign reading '18th February, Live Show Girls, Play Vegas & Casino Tables'Blue and Gold Takeover feed post: navy shirt with a gold collar and swirl pattern, 'Blue and Gold Takeover, 15th April'
Bath Varsity flag: 'Bath' in white and yellow block letters, 'Supported by PLAY' and the PLAY shield on a navy swirl pattern with teal diamonds

On the night

Most of the crowd came as sports teams, so the brand plays like one: be part of the team, be part of the community.

Society and VIP wristbands, a varsity flag and a pull-up banner in the same badge and colours.

PLAY now has plenty of its own merch, and its Wednesdays are still going strong in a competitive market, into their next year.

Three PLAY paper wristbands on a pink background, two teal 'Society Entry' and one pink 'VIP Entry', each with the PLAY shield
PLAY pull-up roller banner: badge, 'Follow your club.', a pink QR code, 'Bangers & belters, Live performers, Your Wednesday routine', every Wednesday, Komedia, 23:00–03:00
